Columbia State Park has become one of the most visited attractions in the state of California. Calaveras Big Trees State Park Just off of highway 4, north of Columbia is home to giant sequoias. These great redwoods are extremely rare, in fact... at one time this grove near Columbia State Park was thought to be the only one in existence. Today of course we recognize that there are several more groves as well as this one near Columbia although none are more beautiful than you will find at Calaveras Big Tree State Park.
